Hello London!
I’ve been back for just over a week now and had almost forgotten how much I admire, and genuinely miss, British style. There’s an ease to it. The ability to elevate the most unassuming pieces: a trench, a navy jumper, a crisp button-up. Nothing feels overworked, yet everything feels considered.
So I’ve been paying attention. Both to what I’m reaching for, and what’s quietly influencing it.
Let’s start with shoes, because they tend to set the tone here. Walkable boots for the day, the most comfortable loafers I’ve ever owned, a touch of vintage Hermès, and reliable black flats. It’s a rotation that makes sense for a city you actually move through. Nothing feels precious, everything is practical.
A proper button-up feels almost non-negotiable. With Nothing Underneath does it exceptionally well. Crisp, slightly oversized, with just enough structure to hold its own. I’ve also been drawn to softer variations with subtle frills. It adds interest without feeling overly feminine. Paired with a wax jacket and good denim, it immediately reads British. Practical, slightly preppy, and entirely weather-appropriate.

Then there’s the navy jumper. I can’t quite explain it, but it feels intrinsically tied to this city. Worn with denim, straight leg or a clean bootcut, and a slightly cropped trench so it doesn’t feel too literal, it’s the kind of outfit that works for a full day of wandering in and out of Marylebone. On denim, I’ve been reaching for Paige’s petite section a lot (25% off sitewide!). Finally something that doesn’t require a heel to feel finished.
Evenings lean more tailored, but never rigid. There’s always a sense of contrast. Trousers (my favourite pair is currently 40% off!) with an oversized bomber, something structured thrown over a delicate cami. It’s that balance that keeps it from feeling too polished. Add a pair of statement heels and you’re set for a drink that inevitably turns into two.

British style is not one that demands attention, but holds it. There is a restraint to it that feels increasingly rare. Fewer pieces, worn better. Less urgency to impress. It’s a rhythm I am hoping to hold onto.

Your travel story to London is wonderful thank you! Have a great time.
